    October 20, 2025 at 4:13 PMUTC

    We will extend the maintenance window until 6pm.

    Our computational offerings are currently still majorly affected by the AWS outage which is affecting among other services, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud.

    Currently Research Engineering Studio is not functional, and Parallel cluster can operate on very limited fashion.

    We will continue working at restoring functionality. As soon as the underlying AWS services regain the usual stability, we will complete the necessary operations to restore our computational services.

    We will provide an update by 3pm EDT.

    MAINTENANCE UPDATE - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

    =============================================

    Summary: Due to ongoing AWS outages in the us-east-1 region, today's planned maintenance and some of our services are delayed or degraded, and we will update you once we know if maintenance will be extended or rescheduled.

    ================================================

    Details: We want to inform you about an ongoing issue impacting our services this morning. Several cloud services in the AWS us-east-1 region are currently experiencing multiple failures, and AWS is actively investigating and working toward a resolution.

    Unfortunately, because our infrastructure relies on these AWS services, we have been unable to proceed with many of our planned maintenance activities scheduled for today. Additionally, our computational and data transfer services are currently unavailable or performing at reduced capacity due to these interruptions at the cloud provider level. Please rest assured that we are closely monitoring the situation and are in continuous contact with AWS as they work to restore normal operations.

    We will provide an update as soon as possible regarding the status of today’s maintenance window, originally scheduled from 6am to 12pm ET. At that time, we will advise whether we will be extending this window once services are restored, or if we will need to reschedule maintenance for a later date.

    We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience while we navigate this unexpected disruption. Our team remains committed to keeping you informed and minimizing any inconvenience. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at regulated_data_environment@harvard.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
