Please be advised that the Regulated (ReD) Environment will be unavailable Monday, May 4th, from 6a - 12p ET, due to scheduled maintenance activities. During this time, we will:
Perform important OS updates to shared infrastructure servers,
Rebuild and redeploy scientific software containers as needed to patch security vulnerabilities,
Update the reference operating system for the Linux cluster compute nodes,
Publish updated images for Research & Engineering Studio (RES) Linux and Windows VDIs,
and other planned updates and enhancements.
Planned changes/enhancements will include:
Adjust max # of compute nodes for fasse-archive and dominici-ultra partitions
Fix fasse-archive partition names to follow partition naming standards
NOTE: This will break scripts that have hard-coded fasse-archive partitions names
Enforce SLURM monitoring for job memory requests & termination for standards
NOTE: Jobs will be killed if you do not accurately size the memory request. This beneficial behavior will keep compute nodes in good health and ensure that array jobs dispatch and run properly. In fact, everyone may see a higher percentage of completed jobs.
Adjustments to existing, unused partitions in order accommodate new one.
We may adjust the list as the feasibility of each item is finalized.
Please reach out if you have any questions, and thank you for the opportunity to serve your regulated research computing needs.
Respectfully,
The Regulated Data Team
As a reminder, regularly scheduled maintenance for the Regulated (RED) environment occurs on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Our next scheduled maintenance is Monday, May 18th.
