    Please be advised that the Regulated (ReD) Environment will be unavailable Monday, September 21, 2026 from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET, due to scheduled maintenance activities.  During this time, we will: 

    • perform important OS updates to shared infrastructure servers

    • rebuild and redeploy scientific software containers

    • update the reference operating system for the Linux cluster compute nodes

    • publish updated software stacks for Research & Engineering Studio (RES) Linux and Windows VDI sessions

    • make other changes which we'll communicate via our maintenance email notice

    This maintenance will also see the following major changes: 

    • RES will be upgraded (to v2026.03), requiring termination of all VDI sessions

    • If ParallelCluster updates are necessary, all SLURM jobs will be killed and requeued

    We may adjust this list as the feasibility of each item is ironed out within the next several days.

    • All SLURM jobs will be killed and requeued due to ParallelCluster updates

    We are writing to provide an update on today’s maintenance activities and revised service restoration times.

    1. OOD & Parallel Cluster (OODPC): OODPC will be returned to service at 17:00 ET today, one hour later than originally anticipated (previously 16:00 ET). Once access is restored, please remember to review the updated scheduler documentation before submitting new jobs, as previously communicated.

    2. Research & Engineering Studio (RES): Due to complications with the migration of storage gateways, RES will remain offline until 09:00 ET tomorrow, Tuesday, August 18. We are working to complete this work as quickly and safely as possible and will restore access as soon as it is ready.

    We will also post this update to SharePoint for your reference. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete this critical maintenance.

    • Publish updated software stacks for Research & Engineering Studio (RES) Linux and Windows VDI sessions

    • Enable memory tracking in SLURM jobs, and

    • Redeploy Windows group/lab storage resources in RES
